Welcome Flight Reward
This product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of the Chase Aeroplan Card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of the Chase Aeroplan Card who received a new card within the last 24 months. You, as the Primary Cardmember, will receive a Welcome Flight Reward after you make purchases totaling $3,000 or more during the first 3 months from account opening. Purchases are when you, or an authorized user, use a card to make purchases of products and services. Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won’t count: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. After qualifying, please allow up to (8) weeks for the Welcome Flight Reward to be credited to your Aeroplan account. The Welcome Flight Reward reduces the base fare in points of a single Aeroplan flight reward ticket for one passenger by up to 50,000 points. The Welcome Flight Reward is valid towards a new booking only and are not valid on existing reservations. Bookings must be made directly with Aeroplan, via aircanada.com/aeroplan, the Air Canada Mobile App, or through the Aeroplan call center. Welcome Flight Rewards apply to the base fare in points only. You are responsible for all incidental charges, including any taxes, partner booking fees and 3rd party charges which apply to the Aeroplan flight reward. One Welcome Flight Reward is required per passenger on the reservation, and the value may not be split between multiple passengers. You, as the primary cardmember, may choose to use a Welcome Flight Reward for a ticket worth less than 50,000 Aeroplan points, but the remaining value of the Welcome Flight Reward will be forfeited once the ticketed journey has commenced. For greater clarity, if a Primary Cardmember chooses to use a Welcome Flight Reward for a flight reward worth 40,000 Aeroplan points and flies the first segment, the remaining 10,000 points will be forfeited. If a Primary Cardmember chooses to use a Welcome Flight Reward for a flight reward worth 40,000 points but changes their existing itinerary to a new itinerary or upgrades the fare class of their existing itinerary before travel commences, the remaining 10,000 points will be honored and applied towards the flight reward price. If a Primary Cardmember chooses to use a Welcome Flight Reward for a flight reward worth more than 50,000 points, the Primary Cardmember will be required to pay the additional points required for the new single flight reward. The Welcome Flight Reward cannot be combined with other flight reward discount certificates, including but not limited to Priority Reward vouchers or other points-based certificates. Welcome Flight Rewards may not be transferred to another Aeroplan account, but can be used to book a flight reward for a traveler other than the Primary Cardmember. The Welcome Flight Reward will not expire as long as your Chase Aeroplan Card account is open. An unused Welcome Flight Reward will automatically be removed from your Aeroplan account on the date the Chase Aeroplan card is closed, regardless of reason for closure, or if the credit card account is changed to a different product. Changes or cancellations are allowed according to the fare rules of the flight reward booked. If during a cancellation a Welcome Flight Reward is to be reinstated into the Primary Cardmember’s account and it is discovered the Primary Cardmember has canceled their Chase Aeroplan Card, the Welcome Flight Award will be forfeited. If during a cancellation the Welcome Flight Reward is to be reinstated in the Primary Cardmember’s account and the Primary Cardmember is identified as a current holder of the Chase Aeroplan Card, the Welcome Flight Reward will be re-deposited into the Primary Cardmember’s account. Changes to redemption tickets made with a Welcome Flight Reward will be honored regardless of whether or not the Aeroplan account owner is still a Chase Aeroplan Cardmember. In the event of a change or cancellation, travelers are required to pay all applicable fees based on the fare type purchased for each ticket, plus the difference in points, if applicable, taxes, partner booking fees and 3rd party charges which also apply. A partially flown Aeroplan flight reward ticket where a Welcome Flight Reward was used as a form of payment will cause the Welcome Flight Reward to be considered used – in this instance, a change or cancellation will be permitted on the ticket itself, but the Welcome Flight Reward certificate will be considered fully used irrespective of any change between the points total of the ticket in the original reservation and the updated points total in the new reservation. In all scenarios, the points value which a Welcome Flight Reward certificate covered in the original reservation will be carried to the new reservation and no residual value, if applicable, will be applied or credited to the ticket or Primary Cardmember’s account. Welcome Flight Rewards may only be used as described, cannot be transferred, and have no monetary or exchange value. The value of a Welcome Flight Award cannot be applied to any other Aeroplan rewards, including but not limited to, hotel stays, car rentals, merchandise, or gift cards. Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or failure to provide, the stated benefits.

How you can earn points: You’ll earn points on purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds, made with an Chase Aeroplan Card by you or an authorized user of the account. Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won’t count and won’t earn points: balance transfers, cash advances and other cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. 10X total points on travel and dining until the earlier of your first 6 months or $5,100 spent: You’ll earn 10 points total for each $1 spent on purchases made with Air Canada directly, on all other travel purchases, and on dining at restaurants purchases for your first 6 months from account opening, or until you reach $5,100 in combined purchases, whichever occurs first. For clarity, that’s 7 additional points on top of the 3 points you earn on purchases made with Air Canada directly, 9 additional points on top of the 1 point you earn on all other travel purchases, and 7 additional points on top of the 3 points you earn on dining at restaurants purchases. Additional points will appear on your billing statement in a separate line from the base points you earn. After that, you’ll earn 3 points (“3X points”): You’ll earn 3 points for each $1 spent on purchases made with Air Canada directly. Purchases of gift cards; car rentals, hotel bookings, and other third-party partner products and services that can be purchased through aircanada.com; and onboard Wi-Fi are excluded. Air Canada tickets booked through discount travel websites or as part of a third-party travel package will also not qualify. 3 points (“3X points”): You’ll earn 3 points for each $1 spent on purchases made in any of the following rewards categories: grocery stores; dining at restaurants including takeout and eligible delivery services. 1 point (“1X points”): You’ll earn 1 point for each $1 spent on all other purchases. Information about earning/transferring points to Aeroplan: Points will be automatically transferred to Aeroplan after the end of each billing cycle. Points expiration: The points transferred to your Aeroplan Program account won’t expire as long as your card account is open. If your card account is closed, the expiration of points earned in this program that are transferred to your Aeroplan Program account will be governed by the Aeroplan Program General Terms and Conditions, available on Air Canada’s website. Losing points: You’ll immediately lose all points that haven’t been transferred to Aeroplan if your card account status changes, or your card account is closed for program misuse, fraudulent activities, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or other reasons described in the terms of the Rewards Program Agreement. Rewards Categories: Merchants who accept Visa/Mastercard credit cards are assigned a merchant code, which is determined by the merchant or its processor in accordance with Visa/Mastercard procedures based on the kinds of products and services they primarily sell. We group similar merchant codes into categories for purposes of making rewards offers to you. Please note: We make every effort to include all relevant merchant codes in our rewards categories. However, even though a merchant or some of the items that it sells may appear to fit within a rewards category, the merchant may not have a merchant code in that category. When this occurs, purchases with that merchant won’t qualify for rewards offers on purchases in that category. Purchases submitted by you, an authorized user, or the merchant through third-party payment accounts, mobile or wireless card readers, online or mobile digital wallets, or similar technology will not qualify in a rewards category if the technology is not set up to process the purchase in that rewards category. For more information about Chase rewards categories, see chase.com/RewardsCategoryFAQs Opens in a new window.
500 Monthly Bonus Points
You, as the primary cardmember, will earn 500 bonus points for each $2,000 spent each calendar month on up to $6,000 in purchases (for a possible total of 1,500 bonus points each calendar month). Please allow up to 8 weeks after qualifying purchases post to your account for bonus points to post to your Aeroplan account. To receive bonus points, your credit card account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. Bonus points will be credited to the calendar month in which the qualifying transaction posts to your credit card account. Delays by a merchant, such as for shipping, could extend a transaction date into the next calendar month.
Aeroplan 25K Status for New Cardmembers
You, as the primary cardmember, will receive Aeroplan 25K Status for the calendar year in which your Chase Aeroplan Card account is opened and for the following calendar year. If you have earned a higher status by other means (in accordance with Air Canada’s Aeroplan Elite Status Terms and Conditions), you will retain the higher status. Aeroplan 25K Status and access to all associated features, benefits, services and amenities are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Aeroplan Elite Status program and are available at aircanada.com/elite-termsandconditions. Aeroplan 25K Status is non transferrable. Your Chase Aeroplan Card account must be linked to your Aeroplan number and must be open and not in default to receive and retain Aeroplan 25K Status. Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or failure to provide, the stated benefits.
Maintain or Qualify for Aeroplan Elite 25K Status
Each calendar year in which you spend at least $15,000 in purchases you, as the primary cardmember, will earn Aeroplan 25K Status through the following calendar year. Purchases are when you, or an authorized user, use the card to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. Buying products and services with your Chase Aeroplan Card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won’t count: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your Chase Aeroplan Card account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. On January 1 of each calendar year, the calculation resets to zero and you must qualify again in the next calendar year. Purchases made towards the end of a calendar year may not be posted to your Chase Aeroplan Card account until the next calendar year and will therefore be included in the calculation for that year. Please allow six (6) to eight (8) weeks after qualifying for Aeroplan 25K Status to be applied to your Aeroplan account. If you earned a higher status by other means (in accordance with Air Canada’s Aeroplan Elite Status Terms and Conditions) you will retain the higher status.
Aeroplan Elite Status Level Up to Aeroplan 35K Status or higher
Each calendar year you spend at least $50,000 in purchases, you, as the primary cardmember, will earn an Aeroplan Elite Status Level Up benefit consisting of a one-level increase of your status for the next calendar year. For example, if during a calendar year you spend $50,000 in purchases and have otherwise earned Aeroplan 25K Status for the next calendar year, your status will increase from Aeroplan 25K to 35K Status for the duration of the next calendar year and will drop down to your otherwise earned Aeroplan Status at the beginning of the calendar year after that, unless you earn a higher status or another Aeroplan Elite Status Level Up benefit. Your status can only be increased through this benefit once per calendar year. The benefit always applies to the status you otherwise earn and is not cumulative year to year. This means if you earn the benefit in consecutive years, and otherwise qualify for Aeroplan 25K Status in both years, that this benefit will increase your status to Aeroplan 35K Status in both years; the second increase will not build from the previous year’s increased level of Aeroplan 35K Status and increase your status level to Aeroplan 50K Status. If you earned the highest Aeroplan status level, Aeroplan Super Elite Status, for the next calendar year in accordance with Air Canada’s Aeroplan Elite Status Terms and Conditions, and also spend $50,000 with the Chase Aeroplan Card, instead of an Aeroplan Elite Status Level Up benefit you will receive one (1) Aeroplan 50K Status to gift to another Aeroplan member for the next calendar year. More details about qualifying for Aeroplan Elite Status can be found at aircanada.com/elitequalification. Purchases are when you, or an authorized user, use a card to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. Purchases made towards the end of a calendar year may not be posted to your Chase Aeroplan Card account until the next calendar year and will therefore be included in the calculation for that calendar year.
