Companion Pass is the benefit that lets you choose one person to fly free with you every time you purchase or redeem points for a flight. To qualify, simply fly 100 qualifying one-way flights or earn 110,000 qualifying points in a calendar year, and you'll earn Companion Pass for the following full calendar year, plus the remainder of the year in which you earned it.
It gives me the opportunity to earn flights to visit friends and explore new cities. Plus, Cardholder-only events–like a weekend in Napa–are incredible.
Without this card and airline, we wouldn’t be able to travel and “get away.” Thank you for all the memories and bucket list trips.
I also enjoy the quick and easy ways to pay my credit card bill (online or mobile). We use our Southwest card instead of cash or checks as it’s convenient and secure.

POINT EXPIRATION, BLACKOUT DATES, and SEAT RESTRICTIONS
Points don't expire: The points transferred to your Rapid Rewards® account won't expire as long as your card account is open or there is flight or Southwest Airlines® partner earning activity on the Rapid Rewards account every 24 months. If your card account is closed, the points in your Rapid Rewards account will expire if there isn't flight or other Southwest Airlines partner earning activity every 24 months. No Blackout Dates and Unlimited Reward Seats apply to flights booked with points.

FREE SAME-DAY STANDBY
Free same-day standby is not available at Southwest kiosks. Please see a Customer Service Agent at the airport for this benefit. New flight must depart within two hours of original scheduled departure, between the same city pairs, and on the original date of travel. On flights outside of the two hour free same-day standby window, A-List and A-List Preferred Members will receive priority standby and will be required to pay the difference in fare if a seat becomes available. Free same-day standby and priority standby will not be provided for non-A-List or non-A-List Preferred Members in the same reservation.
Companion Pass Qualifying Points are earned from your revenue flights booked through Southwest Airlines, your points earned on Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Credit Cards, and your base points earned from Rapid Rewards Partners. Points purchased for personal use or as a gift, transferred points, points earned from program enrollment, Tier bonus points, flight bonus points, and Partner bonus points (with the exception of the Rapid Rewards Credit Cards from Chase) do not qualify as Companion Pass Qualifying Points. Once Companion Pass status is earned, the Member can begin using his/her Companion Pass immediately once he/she has designated a Companion. The Member will maintain Companion Pass status for the remainder of the calendar year in which the status was earned and for the entire calendar year immediately following. Does not include taxes and fees from $5.60 one-way. Points earned during a billing cycle on a Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Credit Card from Chase are not available for redemption or qualification for Companion Pass status until they are posted on your billing statement and posted to your Rapid Rewards Account. Only points posted on your billing statements and posted to your Rapid Rewards Account during the same calendar year are available for qualification for Companion Pass status.
